Actor Rajpal Yadav appeared before the Supreme Court on Wednesday concerning a long-standing cheque-bounce case. He detailed significant financial and career losses over 13 years, including a Rs 17 crore loss attributed to his 2012 film "Ata Pata Laapata."
During the hearing, the Chief Justice Surya Kant lightened the mood by encouraging Yadav to return to filmmaking. The Chief Justice suggested that creating new, entertaining movies could help the actor rebuild his public image.
Yadav responded by mentioning he had already conceived a title for a film based on his experiences from 2010 to 2026, titled "Solah Sawan Jhel Ke" (Having Endured 16 Monsoons).
The Supreme Court accepted Yadav's proposal to sell his ancestral property to settle outstanding dues related to the case. The bench also noted that Yadav had arranged to pay Rs 2 crore immediately through demand drafts, with Rs 1.15 crore submitted, and the remaining Rs 85 lakh to be paid by a property buyer by October 12, 2026.
