On November 10, 2025, a heartbreaking incident unfolded in the Navagam area of Rajkot, India. A 28-year-old woman, Asmita Solanki, allegedly hanged her two young daughters, Priyanshi (8) and Harshita (5), before taking her own life in a similar manner.
The tragic discovery was made by Asmita's husband, Jayesh, when he returned home around 9 PM that evening. According to Jayesh, their marriage was stable, and they had no financial or family troubles. However, he told the police that Asmita "had wanted a son and, in the desire for a son, she took this step."
Investigators have seized the dupatta, rope, and hook used in the incident, as well as Asmita's mobile phone. They will examine the call records of both Asmita and Jayesh, and Asmita's phone will be checked for any relevant information. The police have also recorded preliminary statements from Asmita's family, who have not expressed any suspicion about anyone.
The case has been registered as an accidental death, and the police are verifying Jayesh's statement and investigating all angles to determine the exact circumstances that led to this tragic outcome.
