Rajkot Man Duped of Land by Brother-in-law and Associates

In Rajkot, a man has accused his brother-in-law and four associates of a sophisticated land fraud. The complainant, Ramesh Bhuva, stated that his brother-in-law, Suresh Talpara, approached him in April 2023 seeking financial assistance. Bhuva agreed to mortgage a parcel of his land in Kharchiya village to raise Rs 15 lakh, with the loan expected to be repaid within six months.

However, Bhuva alleges the accused conspired to register a sale deed for the land in another person's name, Dharmendra Thesiya, with Alpesh Donga and Parsotam Lunagariya facilitating the transaction. Bhuva claims he was unaware of signing a sale deed, believing it was for a loan. The fraud was discovered when Bhuva found out his land ownership had been transferred.

When Bhuva confronted the accused, they allegedly demanded Rs 1 crore, including interest, and threatened he would lose the property permanently if he failed to pay. Police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for cheating and criminal conspiracy, along with provisions of the Gujarat Moneylenders' Act.
