Summary
- Two men convicted for assaulting a woman feeding stray dogs.
- Attackers sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for grievous hurt.
- The incident occurred eight years ago in Rajkot.

Eight years after a brutal assault on a woman feeding stray dogs, a sessions court in Rajkot has delivered a verdict, convicting two men. The court sentenced Hardik Kheradiya and Tejas Rathod to 12 years imprisonment each, also imposing a fine of Rs 60,000 on both. A third accused was acquitted due to insufficient evidence.
The assault occurred on October 12, 2018, when the victim, Sharda Shishangiya, was feeding a stray dog outside her residence. A neighbour confronted her, leading to an altercation. He later returned with an accomplice, and the pair allegedly barged into her home, assaulting her and her nephew who intervened.
Following the incident, Sharda's statement was recorded at the hospital, and an FIR was filed. The prosecution presented 16 witnesses and 55 exhibits, including medical and forensic evidence. The court's decision was based on the compelling evidence presented, ensuring justice after a lengthy eight-year legal process.
