Rajasthan Seizes 43,000L Adulterated Ghee

In a significant crackdown on food adulteration, Rajasthan's Food Safety Department has seized more than 43,000 litres of ghee suspected to be adulterated. The action, part of the 'Pure Food - War on Adulteration' initiative, targeted firms operating with serious irregularities.

Laboratory analysis revealed that samples of Bhog Vinayak brand ghee, collected from Pratapgarh, were unsafe. Further inspection uncovered that the manufacturing firm, M/s Giridhar Milk Food Product, was operating from an undisclosed location, contrary to its registered address and Food Safety and Standards Act regulations. Another firm, Shri Shyam Milk Food Product, was found operating from the same premises.

A total of 43,421 litres of ghee, including Bhog Vinayak, Haryana Cream, and Naksh Dairy brands, were seized on-site. Proceedings have been initiated to cancel the license of the involved firm, with further action pending laboratory test reports under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
