Tragedy struck in Rajasthan's Tonk district when a 27-year-old man fatally attacked a 26-year-old woman before taking his own life. The incident occurred in a hotel room on Dudu road in Malpura on Wednesday evening. Hotel staff alerted the police after discovering the pair.
Upon arrival, authorities found the woman deceased. The man, who had consumed poison after the attack, was rushed to a Jaipur hospital in critical condition but was later declared dead by medical professionals. Preliminary reports indicate the man used a sharp weapon in the assault.
Both individuals were natives of the same village. The woman's family has lodged a complaint against the deceased man under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Authorities have handed over the woman's body to her family after a post-mortem examination, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
