19 Sep
Summary
- Woman found deceased after weeks, identification difficult.
- Sister fears for other women as suspect remains at large.
- Police seek fiancé with multiple prior arrests for homicide.

A homicide investigation continues nearly three months after Angelique Apostol, 38, was discovered deceased in a St. Albans, Queens residence on June 24. Her sister, Melanie Apostol, revealed that Angelique had been killed weeks prior, with decomposition complicating identification. "My sister had my children's names tattooed on her. That's how we had to identify her," Melanie stated.
Authorities have identified Angelique's fiancé, Mark Washington, 55, as the suspect and he is currently sought by law enforcement. Police sources indicate Washington has 11 prior arrests. Melanie Apostol believes Washington fatally shot her sister and fled, citing Ring camera footage as evidence of him leaving their home alone on the day of the murder.
Melanie Apostol has voiced grave concerns for the safety of other women, as several have reportedly come forward with allegations of abuse and violent attacks by Washington. "I'm worried about other women that don't know about what he has done," she said. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to Washington's arrest, as Melanie vows to achieve justice for her sister.
