A chilling murder plot has emerged involving the death of Punjabi singer Yashinder Kaur, known as Inder Kaur. Authorities allege the 29-year-old was murdered by a Canada-based man, Sukhwinder Singh, who allegedly traveled to India through Nepal specifically to target her.
Kaur's decomposed body was discovered in Neelon Canal near Kubba village on Tuesday, six days after she was reportedly abducted at gunpoint from Ludhiana's GTB Nagar area. Investigators found her car submerged in the same canal, approximately 1km from where her body was found, with visible bloodstains inside.
Police suspect the murder was premeditated and executed shortly after the abduction, with initial findings indicating Kaur was shot inside her vehicle before being disposed of in the canal. Sukhwinder Singh, who is believed to have been in a relationship with the singer despite being married, allegedly escaped from Ludhiana the same night as the murder.
Family members reported Kaur missing on May 13 after she left to buy groceries and never returned, with her phone being switched off shortly after. An FIR initially filed for abduction was later upgraded to murder. Sukhwinder Singh's father and an associate have been arrested in connection with the case.
