According to a complaint filed by her mother, Kaur was taken to a forested area near Morinda. There, she was reportedly tied to a tree and set on fire before her alleged assailants fled the scene. Another acquaintance discovered her and managed to extinguish the flames.
Kaur received initial treatment in Morinda before being transferred to hospitals in Mohali and later PGIMER in Chandigarh. Despite regaining consciousness and wishing to provide a statement, she passed away on August 26. Her mother subsequently filed a police report, leading to the registration of an FIR for abduction and murder.
Manjeet Kaur had a significant online following, with over 1.46 lakh followers on Instagram and a YouTube channel. Her case has drawn attention, highlighting the violent end to her public life. Investigations are ongoing.
