In Wakad, a dispute over a no-parking zone escalated into an assault on Monday when a helper from a towing van registered a case against him. The incident transpired on Saturday night when a motorcyclist and his wife parked their vehicle near a nursery. A traffic police towing van removed the motorcycle, prompting the owner to stop the van to pay the fine.
According to the victim's complaint, one of the towing van's helpers allegedly hurled abuses at him and his wife. The helper is also accused of striking the victim with a helmet and causing damage to the wife's mobile phone. The Hinjewadi police have booked the 27-year-old accused, a resident of Katraj, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
