Two men were seriously wounded on Friday evening following a brazen attack at a salon in Pune's Warje Malwadi. The victims, Nihal Shinde and Amol Adhav, were reportedly waiting for their turn when assailants opened fire and attacked them with sharp weapons.
The violent incident, which occurred around 8 PM in Yashdeep Chowk, sent shockwaves through the neighborhood, with panicked onlookers witnessing the melee. The motive behind the attack is currently under investigation by the police.
Authorities revealed that one of the assailants may have connections to Rathya Rathod, a previously arrested individual involved in drug trafficking. During a recent drug bust involving Rathod and his associates, significant quantities of mephedrone were seized. Investigations into Rathod's financial transactions revealed approximately 350 suspicious UPI transactions.
Following the attack, vigilant citizens apprehended one of the suspects and transferred him to the Warje Malwadi police. However, his accomplice managed to flee the scene. Both injured victims are receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
