Pune Rider Hurls Stone at Bus Driver in BRTS Rage

A recent altercation in Pune saw a motorcycle rider arrested for assaulting a PMPML bus driver. The incident took place on Saturday evening around 6 pm in the BRTS corridor on Pune-Satara Road, near Laxminarayan theatre. The arrested individual, identified as Mansoor Gafoor Shaikh, 24, of Upper Indiranagar, allegedly attacked bus driver Suresh Vitthal Gunthe, 40, of Katraj.
According to police reports, Shaikh was riding his motorcycle within the BRTS corridor when he overtook a PMPML bus. Subsequently, another bus approaching from the opposite direction suddenly halted to avoid a collision with Shaikh. The bus driver, Gunthe, then requested Shaikh to move his motorcycle from the corridor. An ensuing argument between the two men escalated, leading Shaikh to strike Gunthe on the head with a stone.
Following the assault, Gunthe reported the incident to the police. The Parvati police swiftly arrested Shaikh, who reportedly works as a casual laborer. The arrest was made based on the complaint filed by the bus driver.
