In Pune, a kidnapping investigation took a significant turn when Uttamnagar police arrested four individuals on the night of April 1, 2026. The arrests were made while police were searching for a 17-year-old girl who had been abducted. During the probe, authorities uncovered a drug racket operated by the four arrested men and their accomplices.
Police seized 8.19 grams of mephedrone and other items totaling Rs2.36 lakh. The arrested men, identified as residents of Warje and Kondhwe Dhawade, were remanded in police custody until April 8, 2026. Digital evidence and UPI transaction records were also recovered, indicating substantial drug trafficking activities.
The 17-year-old girl was located shortly after the arrests. She has since turned 18 and informed the police that she wishes to stay with one of the accused. Authorities are now searching for four additional accomplices involved in the drug network.
