A fatal altercation occurred in Kharadi, Pune, late on Thursday night, stemming from a dispute over mobile messaging app status updates. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Akash Tarale, was allegedly murdered by his acquaintance, Vijay Waghmare, aged 23.
According to police reports, the conflict ignited when Waghmare confronted Tarale about photos and videos Tarale had been posting as his status, which seemingly referenced a past quarrel. The situation escalated physically when Waghmare reportedly attacked Tarale with a beer bottle and then a stone, leading to Tarale's collapse.
Emergency services were alerted, and Tarale was transported to a hospital where he was declared deceased. Waghmare, who had fled the scene of the crime, was later apprehended by the Kharadi police and is facing murder charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The victim was unemployed, while the accused worked as a delivery executive.
