In Pune, the court of judicial magistrate first class, AC Bagal, has reserved its decision on the bail application of Sheetal Tejwani. Tejwani, the power of attorney holder in a case involving a government land parcel in Mundhwa, was arrested on December 3, 2025. The arrest followed a complaint regarding illegal orders recognizing private ownership of significant government land parcels.
Tejwani is accused of facilitating the sale of a 40-acre government land parcel in Mundhwa, currently leased to the Botanical Survey of India until 2038, to Amadea Enterprises LLP for ₹300 crore. A sale deed was registered on May 20, 2025. Amadea Enterprises later sought possession of the land, leading to an order for the BSI to vacate. Tejwani and another partner of Amadea are named as beneficiaries of this order.
Tejwani's defense argued that all relevant documents are with the government and no recovery is needed. They also cited her medical condition and role as a single mother of three. However, the prosecution opposed bail, highlighting Tejwani's history of 11 previous criminal cases and stating that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other involved parties.
