Prosecutors Seek Over 11 Years in Prison for Sean "Diddy" Combs
30 Sep, 2025
Summary
- Prosecutors seek 11+ years in prison for Sean "Diddy" Combs
- Combs convicted of transporting male prostitutes across state lines
- Jury acquitted Combs of more serious charges like sex trafficking

On September 30, 2025, US federal prosecutors have urged a judge to sentence hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs to more than 11 years in prison this week following his conviction on prostitution-related charges. The prosecutors are seeking "at least 135 months' imprisonment" and a $500,000 fine for the 55-year-old Combs.
Combs was found guilty on July 2, 2025, after a two-month trial, of transporting male prostitutes across state lines to engage in drug-fueled sexual performances with his girlfriends while he watched, recorded video, and masturbated. However, the jury acquitted Combs of the most serious counts he faced, including racketeering and sex trafficking, which could have landed him in prison for life.
Combs pleaded not guilty to all charges but is expected to appeal his conviction. His defense lawyers have urged the judge to impose a 14-month sentence, arguing that evidence of Combs' abuse of his former girlfriends should not be considered since he was acquitted of coercing them into sex. If the judge accepts this, Combs could be released by the end of 2025 due to time already spent in jail.
Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, is credited with popularizing hip-hop in American culture. During the trial, prosecutors said he coerced two of his former girlfriends to take part in the "Freak Offs," as the performances were known, and that both women testified that Combs physically attacked them and threatened to cut off financial support if they resisted.
