Prisoner Adds 18 Years for Sex Abuse

Paul Tyler, 66, has received an additional 18-year prison sentence after admitting to the sexual abuse of two children. This sentence is being served concurrently with a 16-year term he began in 2012 for earlier offenses against children in the West Yorkshire area.
The new investigation was initiated in 2022 when a man reported being raped by Tyler as a child. Subsequently, a woman also came forward, reporting that Tyler had raped her when she was a girl.
Tyler pleaded guilty in December 2024 to five counts of rape and sexual assault against a boy under 13. In November 2025, he entered guilty pleas for offenses against a girl under 13, including causing her to engage in sexual activity and sexual assault.
At Hull Crown Court, Tyler was sentenced for these crimes and given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Authorities commended the victims' courage in reporting offenses that occurred many years ago, noting their strength was vital in achieving justice and protecting other children.
