An inquest has revealed the tragic death of a Bolivian national, Alvaro Mendoza Sillerico, who died in hospital from tuberculosis on November 18, 2024. Mr. Sillerico, aged 32, had been incarcerated at HMP Lowdham Grange since January 2021.
During his time at the Category B prison, he experienced a drastic weight loss of nearly 30kg, reducing his body weight to 43.2kg. The Nottingham Coroner's Court was informed that the prison had identified multiple tuberculosis cases in late 2021.
