A man accused of fatally stabbing 21-year-old filmmaking student Finbar Sullivan on Primrose Hill has been remanded into custody. Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, 27, faces a murder charge following the alleged incident on Tuesday evening.
Ogunyankinnu appeared at Stratford Magistrates' Court on Monday, where he confirmed his personal details. The district judge deemed the case too serious for the magistrates' court and ordered it to be sent to the Central Criminal Court. The defendant protested his innocence, stating, "I didn't kill anybody, I didn't stab anybody, they've got the wrong person."
Finbar Sullivan's father shared that his son had visited the north London viewpoint to use a new camera received for his birthday. He described the loss as the "worst tragedy" imaginable, emphasizing that his only son could never be replaced. The father also spoke of Finbar's beautiful nature and his aspirations to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, a noted cameraman.
Ogunyankinnu is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday. Separately, a 25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender was released with no further action by the police.
