In Arkansas, Marielle Barrios, 28, was arrested on January 23 for an alleged brutal attack on a pregnant woman, Gheonna Lacy. The incident occurred on January 15, where Barrios reportedly instructed an accomplice to "beat the baby out" and "kill the baby" as they attacked Lacy with a metal baseball bat.
The victim, who is pregnant with Barrios' boyfriend's child, sustained cuts to her face and a bruised stomach. Surveillance footage captured two assailants chasing Lacy. Barrios, upon her arrest, displayed a smile in her mugshot, showing little remorse.
Melvina Lewis was also arrested in Arkansas for harboring a felon. Investigators are still searching for the second individual involved in the assault. Barrios had previously denied involvement, but Lacy identified her when her mask slipped during the beating.
