In Araria, a man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his 24-year-old pregnant wife and burying her dismembered body on a college campus. The victim, Nusrat Parveen, was three months pregnant when she was killed on March 21, 2026, a day after Eid.
Her husband, Mohammad Mahboob, reportedly used a sharp weapon and then chopped her body into two parts, burying them separately at a construction site in Bathnaha police station area. Her body was recovered on Sunday, May 17, 2026, three months after the murder.
The crime came to light after Nusrat's family reported her missing. Her father cited Mahboob's drug abuse and baseless suspicions about his wife's character as reasons for the couple's deteriorating relationship.
Mahboob confessed to the murder during police interrogation. Authorities recovered the body parts from the construction site based on his confession. Forensic teams have collected evidence, and further investigations are ongoing.
