- Unborn daughter, due in August, also died in the shooting.
- Family pleads for justice as investigations into two deaths continue.

A community is mourning the loss of 18-year-old Ja'el Torres and her unborn daughter, Jae'lani, who was due in August. Their lives were tragically cut short on July 13th when Torres was fatally shot in Clairton. This devastating event occurred just days after Torres celebrated her high school graduation and ten days before what would have been her baby shower.
Torres' family gathered at a McKeesport cemetery on Saturday, a day that should have been filled with joy, to release balloons and lanterns in her memory. They are pleading for answers and justice, emphasizing that Torres had her whole life ahead of her and that neither she nor her unborn child deserved such a fate.
Adding to the family's grief, Torres' boyfriend and the father of her unborn daughter, 18-year-old Jamil Webb-Beasley, was found shot and killed near a Homestead playground two days after Torres' death. Authorities are investigating both fatal shootings, but have not yet confirmed if they are connected. The family continues to seek closure and urges anyone with information to come forward.
