Grinch Clerk Caught Stealing Cards, Gift Cards from Mail

A clerk at the Oakdale post office on Long Island has been arrested and charged with stealing mail during the holiday season. Jovanni Jamison-Lewis, 35, is accused of taking envelopes from the outgoing mail, from which she allegedly removed gift cards and lottery tickets before returning the empty cards. Surveillance footage reportedly showed her using a stolen T.J. Maxx gift card at a local store.
Investigators apprehended Jamison-Lewis on November 24th, discovering multiple pieces of stolen mail on her. A subsequent search of her home and vehicle uncovered approximately 20 more pieces of pilfered mail. The Suffolk County District Attorney's office stated that she has resigned from her position following the arrest.
Jamison-Lewis was arraigned on charges including grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and official misconduct. She was released after being charged and is scheduled to return to court in January. The DA's office is urging anyone who believes they may be a victim to contact them.
