A man has been hospitalized with a potentially life-threatening stab wound following an incident in Cosham, Portsmouth. The attack occurred on Hawthorn Crescent on March 12, 2026, just before 2:30 PM GMT. Emergency services quickly attended the scene to provide aid.
The male victim, whose age has not been confirmed, was transported to the hospital for treatment of a serious puncture injury. As a result of the incident, Hawthorn Crescent was closed at its junction with Portsmouth Road to facilitate the police investigation.
Authorities also implemented a temporary lockdown at the Highbury campus of City of Portsmouth College as a measure of safety. The college has since confirmed that students have been permitted to leave the premises. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has launched a full investigation into the stabbing, with inquiries actively ongoing.
