In Portland, Oregon, Judson C. Defir, 43, was apprehended following a disturbing incident on Sunday, March 15. Police responded to a report of a home invasion where Defir allegedly forced his way into a residence and assaulted a woman. The assault occurred while the victim was with her two young children.
Officers arrived at the scene to find the woman distressed and accused Defir of attempted rape. According to court documents, Defir allegedly took the woman into a guest bedroom, forcing her face-down onto the bed with her infant child still in her arms. The victim managed to place her baby in a crib and barricade herself with her older child before Defir fled.
Authorities located Defir near the residence and took him into custody. He is being held without bail at the Multnomah County Detention Center. Investigations indicate Defir may be connected to at least four other assaults, including an incident at a nearby church and two other women in the neighborhood. Additional charges are anticipated as the inquiry progresses.
