Summary
- Lontrell Williams Sr. disputes weak evidence in kidnapping case.
- Prosecutors allege he booked studio and was present during incident.
- Defense claims no direct evidence of conspiracy to kidnap Gucci Mane.

Lontrell Williams Sr., the father of rapper Pooh Shiesty, is challenging efforts by prosecutors to have him held in custody while his criminal case proceeds. Williams Sr. was arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping and robbery of Gucci Mane.
According to court documents, Williams Sr. maintains that the prosecution's case against him is weak and does not demonstrate he would pose a danger to the community if released. The alleged incident involving Gucci Mane occurred on January 10 at a recording studio in Texas.
Prosecutors contend that Williams Sr. traveled from Memphis to Dallas, booked the music studio, and was present during the alleged kidnapping. They also claim he printed the release paperwork that Gucci Mane was allegedly forced to sign at gunpoint.
However, Williams Sr.'s legal team has described the evidence as "profoundly underwhelming," stating that the government lacks any direct evidence of his involvement in a conspiracy to kidnap Gucci Mane. He claims he flew to Dallas alone on December 29, 2025, to visit his ill son, with other defendants arriving weeks later.
