On November 15, 2025, a tragic incident unfolded in Pikkhor village, Junagadh, Gujarat, where a 25-year-old woman named Bhavisha Dayatar died by suicide. Her father, Bharatsinh Babaria (51), has since filed a complaint against Bhavisha's husband, Ashish Dayatar, a police constable previously posted at Mendarda police station.
According to the FIR, Bhavisha had faced prolonged physical and mental harassment from Ashish during their five-year marriage. Bharatsinh alleged that Ashish frequently abused Bhavisha due to his alleged extramarital affairs, treating her "the way police treat criminals" and subjecting her to hours of beating and torture. Bhavisha had previously attempted suicide by consuming acid.
An audio clip circulating online reportedly captures Ashish admitting to relationships with other women. The couple had a dispute in October, after which Bhavisha stayed at her parental home. Shortly before her death, Bhavisha sent a selfie to her husband showing a dupatta around her neck.
Maliya Hatina police have registered a case of abetment to suicide and harassment against Ashish Dayatar. The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities are working to uncover the full extent of the alleged abuse and the circumstances leading to Bhavisha's tragic demise.
