Man Reports Raw Mutton to Police
25 Mar
Summary
- A man lodged a complaint with police over uncooked mutton.
- The meat failed to cook despite nearly 20 attempts.
- Police mediated a resolution with the meat vendor.

During the Ugadi festival celebrations, a resident of Tadipatri town in Anantapur district, India, encountered a peculiar culinary problem. The man, identified as Sodala Haji, purchased ram's head meat for a traditional curry but found it stubbornly remained raw and chewy even after nearly twenty attempts to cook it. Frustrated by the persistent issue that ruined his festive meal plans, Haji took the uncooked meat, still in its cooking vessel, to the Tadipatri Town Police Station.
Town Circle Inspector Ananda Rao addressed the unusual complaint filed by Haji against the meat vendor. Locals speculated that the meat was likely from an older animal, making it exceptionally tough and resistant to cooking. The police inspector contacted the vendor, who subsequently agreed to provide an equal quantity of fresh mutton as a replacement. Haji left the station with the new meat, ready to try cooking again. The incident quickly became a widely discussed and amusing topic in Tadipatri, with social media buzzing about the 'immortal mutton'.
