Mob Attacks Police Responding to Clash in Ambedkar Nagar

On November 9th, 2025, a police team in Lucknow faced a violent attack by an unidentified mob near the Balaji Temple in Ambedkar Nagar. The incident occurred around 8 PM when the police responded to reports of a clash between two groups in the area.
A team led by SIs Brijbhan, Abhay Kumar Gupta, and Ranveer Singh rushed to the scene and found several people injured. As the officers were transporting the injured to the hospital in an ambulance, a group of men and women began hurling bricks and stones at the police vehicles, verbally abusing the officers, and attempting to obstruct their duties.
According to the FIR filed by constable Yamji Mishra, the mob created a ruckus, but the injured were still taken to the hospital. The police have registered a case under Sections 191(2), 352, 132, and 125 of the BNS Act, as well as Section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1932, for assaulting public servants and obstructing government work. The investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the attackers.
