Investigators linked the stolen plants to a South San Jose residence, where they were stored before being resold at a flea market. A crucial break in the case occurred in September with the arrest of Steven Barron, who was tied to dozens of thefts. A subsequent warrant served in November at the Bertram Road home uncovered nearly $11,000 in stolen merchandise, cash, and vehicles laden with plants.
Two additional suspects, Jesus Chavez and Concepcion Buenocamacho, were arrested alongside Barron. The trio faces charges including organized retail theft, conspiracy, and receiving stolen property. The sheriff's office credited community vigilance and diligent detective work for dismantling the operation.
