Two brothers from Pittsburgh, Rodney and Andre Howard, have been charged after a major seizure of illicit substances and firearms from their residence on Shetland Street. The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General announced the arrests on Tuesday, detailing a substantial quantity of drugs taken off the streets.
Officials confiscated 1,200 fentanyl pills, 15 bricks of fentanyl, raw fentanyl, crack cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, and marijuana. In addition to the drugs, three guns and over $2,000 in cash were seized. The total street value of the recovered narcotics was estimated to be nearly $30,000.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday stated that the Howard brothers, both convicted felons, were distributing dangerous drugs and armed themselves to protect their illegal trade. Rodney Howard's bail was set at $50,000, while Andre Howard's was set at $10,000. This seizure contributes to a larger regional effort, with over 50 guns linked to drug trafficking investigations seized in the area this year alone.
