Two individuals lost their lives following a shooting and a subsequent traffic collision in Phoenix late Friday night. The incident occurred shortly after 10:50 p.m. near the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Interstate 17, as confirmed by Phoenix Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Jen Zak.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered one motorcycle rider with multiple gunshot wounds and another with critical injuries sustained from being hit by a car. Both were transported to a local hospital, where they tragically succumbed to their injuries. Initial findings indicate that the two riders were stopped at a traffic signal when one reportedly opened fire on the other.
A driver, witnessing the shooting, collided with the motorcycle rider who was armed, causing fatal injuries to that individual. The driver, who was unharmed, cooperated with investigators at the scene and was later released pending further inquiry. Detectives are continuing a homicide investigation into the precise circumstances of the event.
