A Philadelphia man is now facing murder charges in connection with the death of his girlfriend's toddler daughter. The tragic incident occurred on December 8, when emergency services were called to a Fairmount neighborhood home. Police discovered 2-year-old Key'Monnie Bean-Walls unresponsive, and despite resuscitation attempts, she was pronounced dead at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Prosecutors allege the child died from a savage beating inflicted by Sean Hernandez, 21, who was dating the victim's mother. Investigations revealed the toddler had signs of severe battering, possibly from objects, and potentially suffered suffocation. Hernandez has been arrested and charged with murder, endangering the welfare of a child, and weapons possession.
Two other individuals were arrested for obstruction of justice and unsworn falsification. The child's mother was reportedly home during the incident but has not been charged. Hernandez remains in jail, awaiting a court appearance scheduled for January 5, 2026. A GoFundMe has been established by the child's father to help with funeral costs.
