Jose Luis Rodriguez, 61, received three consecutive life sentences without parole for the murders of Geraldina Peguero-Mancebo, Junior Cabrera-Colon, and their 1-year-old son, Jeyden. The tragedy began in September 2025 when Rodriguez, who was in a relationship with Peguero-Mancebo, shot her because she refused to leave her husband.
Following Peguero-Mancebo's death, Rodriguez drove her infant son, Jeyden, to Ontelaunee Township and threw the child into a pond. An autopsy confirmed the baby was alive at the time of submersion. Rodriguez admitted he did not take the child to a hospital for fear of being caught.
Days later, Rodriguez fatally shot Cabrera-Colon after an altercation. The discovery of the crime and Rodriguez's involvement initially came as a shock to the victims' family, who had believed he was helping them. The family has since sought closure, and a GoFundMe was established to return the bodies of Peguero-Mancebo and Cabrera-Colon to their native Dominican Republic.
