On February 16, 2026, a shocking mass shooting unfolded at Lynch Arena in Pawtucket during a high school hockey game. The event, which was Senior Night, was violently disrupted when the father of a player opened fire on his own family in the stands.
Three bystanders, Michael Black, Robert Rattenni, and Ryan Cordeiro, bravely tackled and disarmed the assailant. The shooter subsequently died by suicide. Police body-worn video captured the immediate aftermath, showing officers arriving to find multiple victims.
