Bar's Liquor License Denied Amidst Crime Surge
6 Jun
Summary
- Marion County board voted not to renew the bar's liquor license.
- Concerns cited include fights, narcotics, and public intoxication.
- Bar faces final decision from Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission.

Marion County officials have denied the renewal of The Patron Saint's liquor license following a string of recent issues. The Alcoholic Beverage Board voted 2-1 against renewal, citing public nuisance and criminal acts on the premises. This decision came after a detective detailed multiple calls to the bar involving fights, narcotics, and public intoxication.
Co-owners of The Patron Saint, located at 250 S. Meridian St., plan to appeal the denial. The bar previously faced scrutiny in September 2025 after a bouncer was arrested for allegedly shooting patrons, despite being prohibited from possessing firearms. Just over a week later, police responded to another fight where an underage individual was served alcohol.
In January 2026, the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission fined the business $2,000 and mandated closures and staff training, while also limiting guest capacity. The nonrenewal impacts both The Patron Saint and its sister business, the Saint Shack. The Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission is expected to make a final decision on June 16.
