According to the police, Jyoti Kumari, a resident of Tajpur in Samastipur district, had been a faculty member at the Soumya Krishna ANM Training School for the past two years. She had returned to Patna from her hometown on Sunday evening after a four-day vacation for Guru Nanak Jayanti.
Jyoti's fellow teacher, Supriya Rani, who shared accommodation with her, stated that the two had dinner together the previous night. Supriya said Jyoti "seemed normal and never mentioned any problems" and that "it did not seem like she was going through anything that could lead to such an extreme step."

On Monday morning, when Jyoti failed to respond to repeated knocks, Supriya alerted the school principal, Angelina Benjamin. The principal, along with a security guard, forced open the locked door and discovered Jyoti's body. The police were immediately informed and have launched an investigation into the exact cause of death.
Forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene, and the police are questioning staff members and reviewing CCTV camera footage to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
