A tragic incident occurred in Patna where a 30-year-old head nurse at Patna Medical College and Hospital, Chandni Kumari, was allegedly beaten to death by her husband, Sonu Kumar. The fatal altercation took place at their residence in Shriram Nagar on Friday night.
The dispute reportedly began when Sonu Kumar insisted his wife accompany him to his parental home in Saran to celebrate Holi. Chandni Kumari's refusal to travel led to a violent confrontation, culminating in her death. Following the incident, the husband allegedly took their two-year-old son to his native village in Saran before returning and contacting authorities.
Sonu Kumar has been arrested and has confessed to the crime. Police are awaiting post-mortem and FSL reports to confirm the exact cause of death, noting multiple bruises on the victim's body. The victim's family has filed a written complaint, also alleging persistent dowry demands.
The couple had been married since February 6, 2023, and had a young son. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities pursuing further action based on the collected evidence and reports.
