A year-long investigation by Patna police has culminated in the resolution of the murder of Mahadev Shah. His body was discovered on March 18, 2025, in Parsa Bazar police station area, with his throat brutally slit. The victim, from Jehanabad district, was allegedly blackmailing his girlfriend, Pushpa Devi, with nude photos and videos.
Pushpa, who was married in 2022, continued her relationship with Shah and reportedly faced threats of exposure. On March 17, 2025, she allegedly lured him to a meeting. Pushpa's brother-in-law, Alok Kumar, and an accomplice, autorickshaw driver Sunny Kumar, picked up Shah and murdered him in a secluded location. Alok, who had a private medical clinic, has been apprehended in Patna after attempting to flee.
