In a significant crackdown on organized crime, Patna police on Saturday arrested Ravi Raj Singh, also known as Satyendra Yadav, a notorious figure in the land mafia. Singh was apprehended at his residence in the Mainpura locality after being on the run. The accused faces severe legal repercussions, including charges under Sections 316 (criminal breach of trust) and 318 (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, alongside accusations related to the Arms Act.
Senior police officials highlighted Singh's deep involvement in land mafia activities across the Danapur area for years. His modus operandi allegedly included the illegal occupation of properties, deliberate instigation of land disputes, and employing intimidation tactics against those who opposed him. This arrest is part of a broader effort by Patna Police to dismantle land grabbing networks operating in the region.
Singh's criminal history is extensive, with prior involvement in a 2017 murder case in Danapur and other offenses registered at the Rupaspur police station. Following his arrest, he was presented in court and remanded to judicial custody. Authorities are also preparing a proposal to attach his illegally acquired properties, further underscoring the seriousness of his offenses.
