Skeletal remains of a woman missing for 15 years were found in bin bags, Derby Crown Court heard on January 27, 2026. Izabela Zablocka, who relocated from Poland, was reported missing in 2010. Her body was discovered on June 1, 2025, buried in the garden of a Derby property where she lived with her partner, Anna Podedworna, who denies murder.
Forensic analysis presented in court revealed Zablocka's body was dismembered and placed in several plastic bin bags. A forensic anthropologist testified that the body parts were tightly positioned within the bags. The court also heard about injuries to the skeleton, some inflicted a substantial time before death, with other injuries occurring at or around the time of death.
