19 Mar
Summary
- Woman found dead weighing just five stone in emaciated state.
- Parents admit allowing or causing death of vulnerable adult.
- Pathologist cites sepsis and low body weight as cause of death.

Steffie Davies, 32, was found dead in her parents' Wrexham home on May 26, 2023. Emergency services discovered her in an emaciated condition, weighing just 36kg (five stone), and noted she had clearly not died recently. Her room was described as being in an appalling state, reflecting her condition.
Her parents, Bernita Davies, 60, and Alan Davies, 59, have since admitted to allowing or causing the death of a vulnerable adult between May 26, 2022, and May 26, 2023. A pathologist determined Ms. Davies died due to sepsis and an extremely low body weight, with evidence of lice and severe emaciation.
The sentencing hearing at Mold Crown Court was informed that Ms. Davies' sister accused her parents of allowing her to "fade into insignificance." Her mother expressed shame and guilt, while her father is undergoing treatment for bladder cancer. Sentencing has been postponed.
