Summary
- Parents arrested for fire that killed two daughters in late 2025.
- Allegedly under influence of meth and marijuana when blaze occurred.

In a devastating incident that occurred on December 20, 2025, two young girls perished in a mobile home fire in Murrieta. Their parents, Stacey Hales, 46, and Adam Keenan, 43, were arrested on March 13, 2026, in connection with the blaze. The Riverside County District Attorney's Office has charged the parents, alleging they were under the influence of methamphetamine and marijuana at the time of the fire.
According to court documents, Hales, the girls' mother, had a history of starting fires while cooking. On the morning of the fire, she was reportedly using cooking oil on a propane grill under a carport, failing to turn off the gas before falling asleep. The grill was located near combustible materials and an overhanging pine tree.
Prosecutors further allege that crucial safety measures were neglected. The complaint states that neither parent had ensured working smoke detectors were present in the home. Additionally, the front door was obstructed by stacked dog crates and stored items, hindering escape as the fire consumed the structure.
