Florida Panthers head equipment manager Teddy Richards has been suspended following his arrest on Friday. Richards, 43, was taken into custody by the Coral Springs Police Department at his home.
He faces charges of domestic violence and unauthorized use of 911 services. As of Friday evening, his bond had not been set, and he was awaiting a hearing.
Richards, who has served as the Panthers' equipment manager since 2016, is a decorated professional with multiple championship wins. He celebrated Stanley Cup victories with Florida and previously with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016.
His extensive experience also includes roles with Team USA, serving as equipment manager for various international tournaments, including the upcoming NHL 4 Nations Face-Off in 2025 and the Olympic team in 2026. He also previously worked with the Penguins' AHL affiliate. The Panthers organization stated that Richards is suspended from all team activities and facilities pending the outcome of the investigation.
