Summary
- Hikers Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon disappeared in Panama's jungle.
- Their camera revealed 90 photos taken between 1am and 4am.
- Death causes remain inconclusive, with accident theory prominent.

In April 2014, young hikers Kris Kremers, 21, and Lisanne Froon, 22, vanished while exploring the forests near Boquete, Panama. After spending two weeks in the jungle, they disappeared, raising alarms when they missed a scheduled tour.
A thorough search ensued, eventually leading to the discovery of a backpack containing personal items and Lisanne's camera. The camera held 90 photos, many dark, but some depicted belongings scattered near rocks and a potential image of Kris with a head injury.
Phone records revealed 77 desperate call attempts over four days, with only one successful, short connection. Kris's clothing was later found along a riverbank, followed by remains, including a foot, in the same area.
Despite extensive investigation, the exact causes of Kris and Lisanne's deaths remain undetermined. Authors have proposed that flash flooding, common in the region, may have led to an accidental demise.
