In a major security breach, Pakistani spy Hanif Khan was arrested in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan last month for engaging in espionage activities against India. During interrogation, Khan confessed to passing sensitive photos and videos of Indian security forces to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Khan, who was caught from Bahla village on the India-Pakistan border five days prior, was brought to Jaisalmer for verification by a special police team. Investigators found evidence on his mobile phone that he had frequently approached Army, Air Force, and Border Security Force (BSF) premises during "Operation Sindoor" and shared visuals of military movements and infrastructure through WhatsApp video calls.
According to intelligence officials, Khan was in contact with an ISI deputy in-charge in Pakistan, who had instructed him to track Indian military activities. Khan admitted to transmitting details of army convoys, BSF and Air Force vehicles, towers, solar projects, and even air activity to his handlers across the border. His actions have compromised the operational movements and infrastructure details of Indian security forces.
Khan remains in police custody as authorities continue to probe the full extent of his espionage links and the damage caused to India's national security.
