Haryana Police's Special Task Force (STF) made significant strides in 2025 by deporting five fugitive gangsters, dismantling organized crime syndicates operating internationally. This focused effort on foreign-based criminals led to a notable nearly 30% reduction in extortion cases when compared to 2024.
The STF's comprehensive strategy involved issuing 63 look out circulars, securing 20 red corner notices, and initiating Interpol references. These measures, coupled with the arrests of 804 accused individuals within Haryana, severely hampered the ability of overseas gangsters to control criminal operations.
Beyond combating extortion, the STF also addressed terror-linked modules, recovering explosives and arms. Actions were also taken against the glorification of gang culture, with content removal from various online platforms, demonstrating a multi-faceted approach to organized crime.
