An Oregon man, Jon French, 35, has entered a plea of no contest to first-degree manslaughter and guilty to second-degree abuse of a corpse. These charges stem from the death of his fiancé, Jeannie Enyeart, aged 47. Enyeart had been reported missing from her Northeast Portland home in January 2026.
Her vehicle was later found abandoned on a rural road in Stevenson, Washington, having slid into a snowbank. Investigators discovered Enyeart's decomposing body concealed under a blanket in the back seat of the car. An autopsy report indicated that Enyeart died due to blunt force trauma to her neck. French is scheduled for sentencing on September 14, 2026.
