9 Dec
Summary
- Surgeon allegedly forced crushed abortion pills into sleeping girlfriend's mouth.
- He used his estranged wife's information to illegally obtain medication.
- The doctor faces six felony charges after the incident.

A surgical resident in Ohio, Hassan-James Abbas, faces serious felony charges for allegedly administering crushed abortion pills to his pregnant girlfriend without her consent. The indictment follows an incident in December 2024 where Abbas allegedly held his sleeping girlfriend down and forced the medication into her mouth.
Court documents reveal that Abbas obtained the abortion-inducing drugs, Mifepristone and Misoprostol, by using his estranged wife's personal information to place an order from an out-of-state provider. This action alone constitutes identity fraud and deception to obtain a dangerous drug.
Following the alleged assault, the victim sought medical attention, where she lost the pregnancy. Abbas has been indicted by a Lucas County Grand Jury on six charges, including abduction and tampering with evidence, and his medical license has been suspended pending further action.
