Two women, Hope Skerett, 40, and Kerriah Ohler, 29, made a daring escape from the Stark Regional Community Correction Center in Louisville, Ohio, on October 12. They climbed to a roof, used a pink robe to shield themselves from razor wire, and jumped to the ground before fleeing into a nearby nature preserve. The escapees were eventually apprehended after an unnamed individual provided a tip. Authorities located them on October 13 around 5:30 p.m. in a basement on Race Street, approximately a 30-minute drive from the correctional facility. They were found hidden in a hole in the wall, buried in dirt, leading to their surrender. Skerett and Ohler, facing a third-degree felony escape charge, have pleaded not guilty and are due back in court on October 19 with a bond of $150,000 each.
